Hotel and housing

Four Points Sheraton ( Milwaukee airport)

What a hotel charges a conference for its meeting rooms usually depends on how many hotel rooms conferees use. In other words, the more people who stay overnight at the hotel, the less the hotel will charge the conference organizers, and the lower everyone’s registration fee can be. You are therefore doing a community service if you stay where all conference events will be held, which is:

The Four Points Sheraton
(conveniently located near General Mitchell International Airport)
4747 South Howell Avenue
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
Phone: 414 - 481-8000
Fax: 414-481-8065

The FORGE Forward Conference rate is $105.00 per room (up to 4 individuals). To receive this rate, register at our special website

http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/forge

You can also call the hotel directly at 414-481-8000; if you do this, make sure you clearly state that you are with the FORGE Forward Conference and are promised our special group rate.

Make sure you reserve your hotel room before February 26, 2007 to get the group rate and lower the chances that we will have filled up all the available hotel rooms!

The rooms at Four Points Sheraton -- Milwaukee Airport include:

Room and Ride Sharing

If you would like to share a ride to the Conference and/or housing at the Conference, join our Room and Ride share email list. Send a blank email to FORGEConference_share-subscribe@yahoogroups.com .Once you complete the confirmation steps you will receive, please be assertive in using this listserve as a tool to help you find the additional assistance you may need.

This list is where you can connect with others to find hotel roommates, offer to share your room with a guest, or find others to share a ride with from your part of the country to the FORGE Conference.

This list is loosely monitored and facilitated, and does not serve as an information gateway about the Conference.

Community shared housing

We are asking Milwaukee-area residents to open their spare bedrooms and even empty couches to low-income conference attendees who otherwise will be unable to attend the conference. If you have space you’d like to make available, please email us at conference @ forge-forward.org or call us at 414-559-2123.   We are also looking for a volunteer Housing Coordinator, whose job will be to match up roommates staying both at the hotel and in private housing. If you think this sounds like the job for you, contact us at volunteer @ forge-forward.org.   If you will need shared housing during the conference, please return later on for more instructions or send us an email now to conference @ forge-forward.org.
