How you can help
Organizing and hosting a national conference is costly. Unlike professional conferences where high registration fees often cover most of the basic expenses, community conferences need the generous support of sponsors in order to both make the conference affordable for as many people as possible and to simply cover the routine expenses of a large-scale conference. There are many ways you can help, such as...
- Attend the Conference!
- Share information about the Conference with transgender folks and/or lesbian, gay, bisexual and straight allies, providers, and anyone else who would benefit from the Conference!
- Be a vendor . Share your services, products, and information with Conference attendees!
- Advertise in the program book!
- Donate directly to enable low income people to attend, or to help underwrite sign language interpretation, childcare, speaker honorariums and travel expenses, and much more!
Individual donations
We welcome monetary donations of any size for our general scholarship fund, which will be used to further reduce registration fees for low-income attendees. Please mail your check to: Forge FORWARD 2007 Conference, P.O. Box 1272, Milwaukee, WI 53201.
If you live in the Milwaukee area, please consider whether you can offer housing and/or transportation for attendees who cannot afford hotel rates and taxicabs. To make such an offer, email volunteer @ forge-forward.org.
No matter where you live, you probably know of businesses, professionals, foundations, or others who might be interested in attending and/or helping support this conference. If you have such a connection, please contact us at volunteer @ forge-forward.org to introduce us and/or obtain materials you can give this potential sponsor, exhibitor, or attendee.
Want to give us an in-kind donation of labor or goods? Email your offer to volunteer @ forge-forward.org and we’ll get back to you to discuss it.
We're working to make sure your donations will be tax-deductible. Our 501(c)(3) paperwork has been filed and should be awarded in 2006. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at conference @ forge-forward.org.
